The Immortal Project FAQ
(please close this window to return
to the entry form)
Will I get paid?
No. You will not
receive any financial reward.
What will I get for modelling then?
You will receive
a fine art print 19x13 inches of the final work that will be published in the book. This will last 2 lifetimes
without discolouring. You also receive all the photos of the photoshoot on cd and can use them for your portfolio
or anything else you like. You will also receive a free copy of my book: "I wannabe a model".
Will I need to pay out anything?
Only your travel
costs to Oxford. If your costs are over £20.00 I will pay half of your total travel costs.
Why should I wish to model for this without pay?
A good point, especially
as I don't expect to get any money from this either. Not many people buy art books unless the artist is dead, patronised
by financial investors, or very famous. I am doing it for 2 reasons: the first is I just simply love creating beautiful
things, the second is because I wish to leave behind a small part of me having been alive and creating something
other than my child. You might wish to share one of these aims? Most of the things we put on the Internet simply
disappear eventually, but documents and books held in the 5 published works libraries in the UK will be looked
after forever.
Will I need to model nude?
No.
Will I get a copy of the final book?
No. It will be very
expensive. You can buy one if you wish at cost price.
How do I know you are safe?
I will provide full
references of models I have worked with and you can email them.
What will I need to bring with me?
We will discuss this
if you are selected.
Can I bring a chaperone?
Of course... but
I cannot pay anything towards their travel costs.
Why are there so many odd questions on the form?
They are to help
determine suitability, reliability, and to help the selection of models or non-models prepared to pose and who
deserve to be immortalised.
Will I really be remembered if I appear
in this book?
Yes. I genuinely
believe we are living in an extraordinary period. We are the very first people who have used the Internet to team
up, photographer and model, to create art. We are the first people using high technology beyond the ordinary camera
to create new and stunningly different images. Art critics and historians in the future wil look back at this time
of pioneering. I have been here doing art since the start of the Internet in the UK in 1995. I have run many projects
and written/produced several art books and magazines. My work is in the British Library. It will be found and if you are in these works, future people will see
you too, long after you are dead and sadly forgotten.
Do you really expect to get 100 people to model for you without pay?
Yes. Many women share
the joy of creativity for its own sake and not everyone modelling - or indeed making art images like me - is doing
it for the money: they are doing it for joy and an intense interest.
Who are you?
You can track me
down and find out all the things I am involved with by
googling me here!
